in keeping with our aim to help grow beauty in the world, seed by akimi gives back to its communities in the following ways:
donation —we give up to 1% of the proceeds from our products to east meets west foundation, a san francisco-based nonprofit organization that fosters learning, healing, and health in vietnam. the core program work of east meets west is in the areas of education, medical and health care, clean water and sanitation, and infrastructure. these programs reflect acommitment to removing the barriers that prevent people from enjoying life's fullest opportunities. east meets west's primary mission is to serve the poor and the disadvantaged in vietnam and southeast asia.
employment — we employ workers through hope services, a bay area nonprofit agency that provides programs that assist children, adults and seniors with developmental disabilities to become valued and participating members of their communities. hope services serves approximately 3,000 individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, down’s syndrome, and other related conditions.
